Obvious ways to use mobile for business
There are a few really obvious ways for a business to take advantage of mobile marketing right?
For example, over 94% of smartphone owners use their phone to search for local businesses and 64% of those searches result in a purchase within 1 hour.
Those are some pretty crazy numbers.
So obviously, if you’re a local small business owner you simply MUST make sure you are showing up in the search results when people use their phones, otherwise you’re just throwing money away to the competition.
Total no brainer.
Or text message marketing.
That one’s pretty obvious too since it’s fairly typical for text message open rates to be as high as 97%.
NINETY SEVEN PERCENT.
Compared to the 5-10% open rates most marketers are used to getting with email.
And then there’s mobile apps like Instagram, the mega popular photo (and now video) sharing giant.
We are very close to the point where the number of mobile internet users worldwide actually OVERTAKES desktops users.
In fact, it’s predicted to happen in 2014.
Think about that.
More people accessing the internet using their phones than their computers.
That really came out of nowhere didn’t it?
Which is exactly why Google said it now officially considers itself a MOBILE COMPANY FIRST, rather than a desktop pc search engine company.
And it’s also why Facebook purchased Instagram for $1 billion.
So if Instagram is so valuable to Facebook, how can a business use it to promote themselves?
Well again, one of the most obvious ways is for businesses with physical products – like a bike manufacturer or maybe a wedding cake bakery for example – to share cool pictures of their products.
With over 150 million users and over 16 Billion photos uploaded, that’s obviously a killer platform to draw attention to your products.
But it seems like a lot of these ways to use mobile marketing really benefit local businesses with physical products.
Which is great, but what about internet marketers or network marketers?
People who don’t have physical products like service based businesses or info marketers?
Can you still tap into the massive wave of mobile marketing?
