On this Veterans Day, 11-11-11, I wanted to talk about how lucky we are in the United States.

The people who serve in our military have the toughest jobs in the world. We are very proud of the work they do everyday to make our nation safe.

We may not always feel lucky, but we should be thankful for what we have in this country compared to other countries that don't offer the right to vote.

We're not always a happy bunch here. There are some wealthy people who are just down-right miserable. Then again, there are people who are struggling financially and couldn't be happier.

For the most part, people who are not burdened by financial worries are happier than those who do. Raging debt has plagued many of us over the past few years, because of the weak economy. Working under stress to support the family can burn you out after a while.

I've been there. I spent quite a few years spending more money than I made. My debt on credit cards alone were out of control. I had too much debt and I had to make some changes.

If this sounds similar to your situation, you're definitely not alone. Two-thirds of Americans cannot pay off their credit card bills every month. You get angry and frustrated at your situation.

One thing you can't do. You can't mope around all the time complaining about your situation. You have to do something about it.

The first change I made was the most difficult, but was the most important one. I changed my attitude from being negative all the time to a positive one. Once I made that adjustment, I was able to forge ahead and make things happen for me. It was time to stop complaining and do something constructive to help your situation.

Thinking positively can be so beneficial, no matter what your situation is. People with positive attitudes can achieve more goals and actually live longer. The best thing about a positive attitude is that it costs nothing. You just do it yourself. No matter how much turmoil surrounds you right now.

Keep positive and positive things will happen for you and your business.

It's what our troops have to do when serving in the military.

God bless all of our Veterans. Thank You for serving.

Sincerely,

Don Servais
